Golden Jubilee Celebrations for Intermediate Hurlers
Terryglass Hall was brimming with excitement last Saturday Night as a full house arrived for Golden Jubilee Celebrations for our Intermediate Hurlers who won back to back north Tipp intermediate hurling titles 1974 and 1975.
The night began on a high when a standing ovation greeted all Ireland winning manager Liam Cahill and his wife Eimear with the Tipperary manager holding the Liam McCarty Cup aloft.
Club Chairperson Paul Tiernan welcomed everyone and introduced Liam Cahill who recalled early memories of Tommy Hogan and Sean O’Meara winning an All-Ireland Intermediate medals in 2000. He also recalled the exploits of Patrick McLoughney in the Tipp goals. he continued by mentioning the clubs achievements and its ability to win back to back titles highlighting 1967-68, 1974-75 and 1985-86. Evan Patrick McLoughney won back to back All-Stars in 1979 and 1980. He hoped that his own Tipp team can do the same as they try and win back to back senior titles for the first time since 1965.
