Shannon Rovers GAA Notes (6 September 2025) By Liam Hogan, Shannon Rovers GAA PRO
Intermediate Hurling
While Shannon Rovers intermediate hurlers put up a great display against Golden Kilfeacle in the third round of the FBD Insurance County at Templederry the 2-26 to 1-22 defeat means no automatic quarter final spot and instead the Redswill now face a preliminary quarter final against either MoyleRovers, Eire Og Anacarty or Arravale Rovers. See match report.
Under 15 Hurling
Lorrha Rovers defeated Portroe in the North Tipp Under 15 B Hurling quarter final on a scoreline 5-6 to 1-8 at Portroe last Thursday evening. Lorrha Rovers will play Kiladangan in the semi final next Thursday in Kilcolman, throw in 6pm. Burgess play Borris-Ileigh in the other semi final as Borris-Ileigh defeated Moneygall in the remaining quarter final last Thursday.
Under 13 Hurling
Lorrha Rovers qualified for the county final thanks to a 1-10 to 1-7 semi final win over Galtee Rovers at Gortnahoe last Sunday at noon. Lorrha Rovers led 0-5 to 0-4 at half time but Galtee Rovers drew first blood with a goal shortly after the break before Adam Hourigan responded likewise from a long range free. James Cormican, Eoin Kennedy and Con Cleary were among the other scorers.
Lorrha Rovers now face J K Brackens in the county final which is planned for next Saturday in Holycross, throw in 11am. All support welcome.
Under 9 Hurlers
Shannon Rovers under 9 hurlers had a special day in Doctor Morris Park and Semple Stadium last Saturday when they played in both venues. They were also invited to pay a visit to the dressing rooms where many Tipperary stars togged out in their journey to win Munster and All-Ireland championships. Lets hope the trip inspires our own stars of the future.
