County Hurling League
On Friday evening last it was the turn of the hurlers to take the field for hurling league action when they secured a 2-18 to 2-17 home win over Upperchurch Drombane in round four. Rovers have four points out of three games and fill second place, two points behind group leaders Golden Kilfeacle who have four games played. Rovers face Clonoulty Rossmore in their next game and also have an outstanding fixture with Ballybacon Grange.
Rovers Review 2022
There are a small number Rovers Review 2022 books still in the Shops. A book can be purchased in The Ferry Inn, Paudge Flynn’s Carrigahorig and Eason’s Nenagh. Anyone wishing to purchase a book can also contact Liam Hogan at 087-2425229 or any other member of both club committees.
Social Membership
Social membership is due for 2023 at €30.00 per adult. Anybody wishing to pay can do so through the GAA Foireann scheme or through our registrar Enda Hogan or indeed any other club officer. Many thanks to all who have paid up so far. Your support is very welcome.
U-17 Hurling
After the first round defeat to Nenagh Eire Og it was back to winning ways forLorrha/Shannon who defeated Gortnahoe Glengoole in the second round 5-15 to 2-15 at Lorrha last Monday the 25th April. The team will take on Holycross-Ballycahill in round three at Ballinderry next Friday evening.
Under 15 Football
After the latest defeat Borris-Ileigh in the North Under 15 B football quarter final at Ballinderry last Thursday evening Lorrha/Shannon Rovers took on Portroe in the Plate semi-final but lost 4-12 to 2-9 at Portroe. Thoughts turn to the hurling league and championship in the coming weeks.
Under 13 Hurling.
The Under 13 hurlers took on Kilruane MacDonaghs in Ardcroney last Friday evening and put up a great performance with the homeside winning the contest while our under 11s played Borrisokane on Saturday in Gardiner Park with a share the spoils the end result.
Gaeltacht Scholarships 2023
Applications are now open for the Gaeltacht Scholarships 2023. Any persons wishing to apply for the scholarship must fill in the attached form and return it to irishculturalofficer.tipperary@gaa.ie by Friday May 12th at 12pm. Please note that the Scholarships are only open to 2nd, TY and 5th Year Students and if you have already received a scholarship you are unable to apply. All, applicants will be called for interview after the closing date. Please have an up-to-date email address as interviews will be communicated via this.
