Shannon Rovers Banquet Dinner

Shannon Rovers GAA club is holding a Banquet Dinner in the Ashley Park House, Ardcroney on Friday 13th of February. There will be a drinks reception at 6pm.

This will be a night of celebration with the club celebrating the North Tipperary Intermediate Hurling final win following their win over Borrisokane in the decider last July.

In addition the club is to commemorate winning the back to back North Tipperary Intermediate Hurling titles in 1985 and 1986. In 1985 Shannon Rovers defeated Portroe in the North decider. The side lost to Moycarkey Borris in the county semi final. Returning to the action the following year, Rovers retained their title with victory over Newport. Following a county semi final win over Arravale Rovers, the county championship was up for offer when taking on Clonmore in the final. Shannon Rovers won 0-9 to 0-8.

Damien Lawlor will be master of ceremonies on the night. Music will be provided by the well known group Tradstone.

Reminder

The senior club’s adjourned general meeting is provisionally fixed for the 6th of February.

Reminder

At a recent county senior Board meeting a vote was held and the CCC motion carried that Tipperary will be returning to even age grades in 2026 consisting of Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 competitions.

This meant that the Under-19 age grade will be removed, and the Under-21 Championship be retained. That the Under-12 grade be run on a competitive league basis, while adhering fully to all Go Games policy guidelines.
