Ger Fox RIP – one of life’s true gentlemen.
Shannon Rovers GAA club are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Ger on Saturday afternoon, a loss that has left the entire community in shock and mourning.
Ger was at the very heart of Shannon Rovers GAA — a dedicated committee member and the driving force behind the Tipperary GAA Lotto Draw. His involvement with Ballinderry Community Sportsfield began at a young age, accompanying his dad Billy up the road, and grew into a lifelong commitment where he took on countless roles in developing the field we see today. His dedication and generosity has left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
As a player, Ger wore the red and white jersey with immense pride from his juvenile days through to adulthood, a testament to his enduring passion and loyalty. He proudly captained the U21 hurlers to victory 40 years ago and was also a valued member of the county intermediate championship winning team that same year. His contributions, both on and off the field, will never be forgotten.
We were honoured to recognise Ger’s immense contribution at this year’s dinner dance — a small reflection of the deep respect and appreciation held for him.
It is difficult to find words to capture the depth of this loss. Ger meant so much to so many, and his absence will be felt for years to come.
We extend our deepest sympathies to his sisters Rosie and Helen, his brother-in-law Leslie, his nephew George, and to all his extended family, friends, and clubmates.

Rest in peace, Ger.
