Shannon Rovers v Kilsheelan
The real stuff begins next Saturday the 9th of August at Templetuohy GAA Grounds as we take on Kilsheelan-Kilcash in the first round of the FBD County Intermediate Hurling championship. Throw in is at 6pm.
This will be the third championship meeting in recent times, starting with the 2022 clash on July 2nd which finished all square Shannon Rovers 0-17 Kilsheelan 2-11. The teams met twelve months later with Kilsheelan winning by 1-24 to 1-12 on August 12 at Holycross.
Ballybacon Grange take on Golden Kilfeacle in the other group game. Let’s support the team in great numbers.
Champions
Congratulations to Kiladangan senior hurlers on the North Tipperary Senior Hurling championship final win over Boris-Ileigh at Nenagh last Sunday. Congrats also to Ballina who defeated Burgess in the North premier Intermediate Hurling final at Nenagh last Sunday.
Under 13 C Hurling Championship
Last Saturday Lorrha Rovers under 13s defeated Moneygall inthe third round of the championship at Ballinderry. The mid-day throw in victory brought an end to the round robin stage with the team producing three wins out of three and looking forward to their semi final game with Tuesday August 12th as the date for the game.
Under 15 Hurling Championship
Lorrha Shannon Rovers defeated a weak Moneygall side 1-22 to 0-8 in the third round of the championship last Thursday July 31st in Lorrha. Lorrha Shannon Rovers will take on Burgess in the fourth round this Thursday August 7 in Kilcolman. The pairing brings back memories of the clash in the North Under 15 Football final which saw Burgess win in a great contest.
Meanwhile, the final round robin game is against Borris-Ileigh in Ballinderry on August 14. After the round robin stage is complete the top two teams will receive a bye to semi final while teams finishing third to sixth will feature in the quarter finals.
Under 17 B Hurling Championship.
The third round tilt with Newport at Ballinderry last Monday, July 28th resulted in a win for the visitors 5-20 to 1-15. The round robin schedule will end with a fourth round game against Nenagh Eire Og on August 4th at MacDonagh Park. Then the knockout begins.
